One of the most important parts of preserving history is sharing it and recently, we had the privilege of doing just that through two community presentations about the history of Gist Settlement.
Our dedicated board members, Paige and Chuck Green, have been working to educate others about the remarkable story of Gist Settlement, from its origins in the early 1800s to the ongoing efforts to preserve its legacy for future generations.
Our first presentation was hosted by the Highland County Historical Society, where Paige shared the history of the Highland County Penn Township Gist Settlement, highlighting the journey of the original settlers, the significance of the community, and the importance of preserving this unique piece of Ohio history.
More recently, Paige and Chuck presented at the Clinton County History Center, where the response was overwhelming. The event drew a full audience with standing room only, demonstrating the growing interest in learning about Gist Settlement and the descendants who continue to preserve its legacy today.
We are incredibly grateful to both organizations for welcoming us and providing a platform to share this important history with their communities. Every presentation helps raise awareness, encourages meaningful conversations, and supports our mission to preserve the stories, land, and legacy of Gist Settlement.
If you weren't able to attend the Clinton County presentation, you can watch the full recording on YouTube here. We invite you to take a look, share it with others, and help us continue spreading the story of Gist Settlement.
Thank you to everyone who has attended our presentations, supported our mission, and helped keep this history alive. Together, we are ensuring that the legacy of Gist Settlement will be remembered and celebrated for generations to come.
