Preservation is more than maintenance, it is a commitment to protecting the history, land, and legacy of Gist Settlement Legacy.
Through ongoing restoration and improvement projects, we are working to ensure that this historic site remains a place of connection, education, and pride for future generations.
Metal Garage Restoration
As part of our ongoing preservation efforts, we recently completed major improvements to the metal garage located on the Gist Settlement property.
This structure plays an important role in supporting maintenance, storage, and future restoration work across the land. The upgrades have significantly improved both the functionality and longevity of the space.
PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS:

All debris, unused vehicles, and miscellaneous items were cleared from the space

Structural repairs and reinforcements were completed to improve stability

Approximately 5 inches of gravel were added to create a more durable and level surface

Garage doors were repaired and properly secured

The space was reorganized to improve overall usability and workflow

Storage solutions were added to better house tools and materials

A new electrical panel was installed to support future work and functionality
